🌍GRATITUDE IN EVERY WORD, EVERY SEASON

Gratitude is more than an emotion—it is a lifestyle that glorifies God in every season. Ephesians 5:20 reminds us to give thanks always, whether in joy or in trial, because God’s love and faithfulness never change. Writing daily gratitude to God, whether through journaling or prayer, is a powerful way to notice His blessings both big and small. From the rising sun to the strength to endure hardships, every moment reflects His mercy. True thanksgiving does not deny challenges but declares that nothing is wasted in God’s hands. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to the abundance we already have and strengthens our faith to trust His promises. In every season, gratitude is an act of worship—a testimony that proclaims, “Lord, I trust You, I believe You are good.” Living with gratitude transforms our hearts and draws us closer to the unchanging God who sustains us.

Gratitude glorifies God in every season—mountains of joy and valleys of trial alike. #WriteToGod ✍️#LetterToGod ✍️

Every day brings with it countless moments—some shining with joy, others wrapped in uncertainty, and still others so ordinary they pass unnoticed. Yet in each of these, God’s hand is at work. Ephesians 5:20 calls us to “give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This call is not an invitation to ignore hardships or pretend everything feels perfect. Rather, it is an invitation to live with Spirit-led gratitude—a gratitude that anchors us not in circumstances but in God’s unchanging faithfulness.

Gratitude Beyond Feelings

True thanksgiving is not shallow optimism or blind positivity. It is not about pretending challenges don’t exist. Instead, gratitude acknowledges difficulties but chooses to trust the God who is present in them. A grateful heart proclaims: “Lord, I believe You are good—always.”

This kind of gratitude is steady. It flows in moments of joy and in seasons of trial. It reminds us that God’s mercy and wisdom remain constant, no matter what life looks like on the surface.

Writing Gratitude to God

One of the most transformative practices is writing daily gratitude to God. Each time we pause with pen in hand, we are choosing to notice His fingerprints in our lives. We thank Him for blessings both big and small—the warmth of the morning sun, the breath in our lungs, strength for a long day, the kindness of a friend, or the quiet assurance of His presence.

Gratitude journaling is not just recording emotions—it is a daily offering of worship. It trains our hearts to see God’s hand in everything and teaches us that even unanswered prayers or difficult moments are not wasted. God is always working behind the scenes for our good.

Gratitude as a Declaration of Faith

When we give thanks for everything, we are declaring a powerful truth: nothing in our lives is wasted in God’s hands. Our praise is not conditional on favorable outcomes; it is continual. Gratitude says, “I trust You, Lord. I believe You are good, even here, even now.”

This practice shifts our focus away from lack and fear, anchoring us instead in abundance and trust. Gratitude sharpens our vision to see more of God’s blessings and strengthens our faith to rest in His promises.

Living a Lifestyle of Gratitude

A grateful life is not confined to specific moments; it becomes the rhythm of our days. Gratitude teaches us to:

  • See God’s hand in both ordinary and extraordinary moments.
  • Worship Him not only with our songs but with our words and actions.
  • Trust His promises even when circumstances feel uncertain.
  • Live with hope, knowing His love and mercy never fail.

As we practice daily thanksgiving—whether through writing, prayer, or spoken words—we glorify God by aligning our hearts with His truth. Gratitude becomes our testimony to the world, pointing others to the faithfulness of a God who sustains us in every season.

A Daily Offering of Thanks

So today, and every day, let our words rise to God as offerings of thanks—for what He has done, for what He is doing, and for what He has promised to do. Whether we stand on mountaintops of victory or walk through valleys of trial, gratitude becomes our anthem, declaring the eternal truth of God’s goodness.

To Him be all the glory.

Dr. Milanya Soltero Osngao, a.k.a Milanya Writer, is a dentist and a gratitude writer. During her clinical years in college, she first began experiencing dreams, some of which later unfolded in her real life. These experiences have shaped her faith journey and guided her, especially in making bold decisions in her life. At times, she would question the Lord, asking why such dreams came to her, often during seasons when she felt helpless. As she matured in her faith, she came to understand that God can use dreams and visions to guide, help, and protect His people. These sacred encounters made her aware that God still speaks through dreams and visions, just as His Word declares in Acts 2:17: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” A SEASON OF BREAKING AND REDIRECTION At the beginning of 2024, Milanya prepared for what she believed would be a breakthrough in her professional life. To prepare, she invested heavily—financially and academically—believing she was paving the way for success in her professional career. But instead of the breakthrough that she expected, she then found herself walking through trial after trial. In her brokenness, she sought solitude, and in that sacred silence, kneeling before God, she asked Him to bring her through. What she did not realize at that time was that God was not breaking her down but redirecting and aligning her. During this period, she found comfort and guidance through the messages of a globally known spiritual mentor she often listened to during difficult times. One message in particular stood out: the importance of writing down five things to be grateful for every day. Inspired, however, Milanya began addressing her gratitude directly to God instead of simply writing it down. She literally turned them into gratitude letters to God. Even in her breaking, she faithfully wrote five things she was thankful for each day. In those long months of solitude—writing to Him—God was already healing her and shaping her heart, though she did not recognize it at first. Months later, she realized she was no longer attached to the plans she once clung to. For someone who is a naturally shy person and stays away from social media, and her only main focus was on thriving in her career as a dental professional, unexpectedly, her path has been redirected. God led her onto a path outside her comfort zone - something she had never planned or imagined. This was the birth of her online presence. A MESSAGE Milanya’s personal rock is verse 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” For her, thanksgiving is not only for the mountaintops but also for the valleys. Through it all, she has learned that what we often see as breaking is God’s molding to align us with His plan. To God belongs our daily thanksgiving.
