🌎GRATEFUL PRAISE TO THE GOD WHO SUSTAINS US | GRATITUDE AND FAITH THAT STRENGTHEN OUR HEARTS

Discover the power of gratitude to God in every season of life. From Psalm 118 we are reminded that His love endures forever and His grace sustains us through trials and triumphs. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to the God who never fails. 🌿 #WriteToGod ✍️ #LetterToGod ✍️

From the earliest days of our lives until now, God has been our constant refuge and strength. He is the unshakable foundation that carries us through every season—whether in times of joy or in valleys of deep sorrow. When we are weak, He becomes our strength. When our hearts are burdened, He comforts us. When the weight of life feels too heavy to bear, His faithful arms carry us through. Truly, even in our lowest valleys, His love has never failed and His sustaining grace has never run dry.

Psalm 118:28–29 declares: “You are my God, and I will praise you; you are my God, and I will exalt you. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” These words are not only an act of worship but also a declaration of identity and relationship. To say, “You are my God” is to confess trust, dependence, and belonging. It is a reminder that our lives are not our own—we belong to the One who created and sustains us.

The Power of Gratitude to God

Gratitude is more than polite words—it is a posture of the heart. When we give thanks to God daily, we shift our focus away from what we lack or fear and place it on the God who never fails. Gratitude is a lens that transforms how we see life.

When we choose gratitude, we begin to recognize God’s hand in both the small and the great:

  • The strength to endure difficult days.
  • The courage to rise again after falling.
  • The wisdom to make the right decisions.
  • The peace that quiets our restless thoughts.
  • The joy that flows even in seasons of trial.

All of these are not from our own strength, but from the Lord who sustains us. Gratitude becomes a testimony that God Himself—not just His blessings—is our greatest gift.

God’s Love: Our Anchor Through All Seasons

Life brings seasons of celebration and seasons of struggle. Yet God’s love is constant. His Word reminds us: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” (Psalm 118:29)

These words are timeless. They are not tied to a specific moment in history but stretch across generations. Whether in triumph or in trial, God’s goodness never changes. His love does not expire. His promises remain true.

When we look back at our lives, we can see evidence of His faithfulness in countless ways:

  • The unseen protection in moments of danger.
  • The doors He opened when we felt stuck.
  • The strength that rose within us when we thought we had none left.
  • The quiet whispers of peace in the middle of our storms.

Without God, we cannot move forward. But with Him, our hope is renewed each day—even when the way seems uncertain.

Practicing Daily Gratitude to God

Gratitude is not reserved for grand miracles alone; it is woven into the simple rhythms of everyday life. Each breath we take is a gift. Each sunrise is a reminder of His mercy. Each small moment of joy is evidence of His love.

We give thanks to God for:

  • The breath we take each morning.
  • The strength to complete the tasks before us.
  • The laughter and love shared with family and friends.
  • The beauty of creation—the mountains, seas, and skies that proclaim His glory.
  • The quiet peace that whispers hope into our weary hearts.

As we pause to thank Him, gratitude deepens our awareness of His presence. It opens our eyes to see His hand at work in every detail of our lives.

For some, gratitude is spoken in prayer. For others, it is written daily in a gratitude journal—letters of thanksgiving to God that become a sacred record of His faithfulness. Whether spoken or written, gratitude is more than words; it is worship. It is an act of faith that honors God and aligns our hearts with His truth.

Living a Lifestyle of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is not a once-a-year holiday or a response to favorable circumstances. It is a lifestyle. It is the overflow of hearts that know the character of God—faithful, merciful, and true.

When we live in gratitude:

  • We find strength in weakness.
  • We discover peace in uncertainty.
  • We walk in hope even when the future is unclear.
  • We live with a deep awareness that God sustains us in every season.

This is the power of a grateful heart—it becomes a magnet for God’s miracles. Gratitude draws us closer to Him and opens the door for His blessings to flow.

Final Reflection

As Psalm 118 reminds us, God’s love endures forever. In moments of joy and in times of trial, His faithfulness remains. Let us lift up grateful praise—not only in the extraordinary victories but also in the quiet, ordinary blessings that sustain us daily.

Gratitude to God is not just a practice; it is a way of life. It is the recognition that we are held, guided, and sustained by a God whose love never fails. When we thank Him, we do more than acknowledge His gifts—we proclaim that He is our God, and He is worthy of all our praise.

Dr. Milanya Soltero Osngao, a.k.a Milanya Writer, is a dentist and a gratitude writer. During her clinical years in college, she first began experiencing dreams, some of which later unfolded in her real life. These experiences have shaped her faith journey and guided her, especially in making bold decisions in her life. At times, she would question the Lord, asking why such dreams came to her, often during seasons when she felt helpless. As she matured in her faith, she came to understand that God can use dreams and visions to guide, help, and protect His people. These sacred encounters made her aware that God still speaks through dreams and visions, just as His Word declares in Acts 2:17: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” A SEASON OF BREAKING AND REDIRECTION At the beginning of 2024, Milanya prepared for what she believed would be a breakthrough in her professional life. To prepare, she invested heavily—financially and academically—believing she was paving the way for success in her professional career. But instead of the breakthrough that she expected, she then found herself walking through trial after trial. In her brokenness, she sought solitude, and in that sacred silence, kneeling before God, she asked Him to bring her through. What she did not realize at that time was that God was not breaking her down but redirecting and aligning her. During this period, she found comfort and guidance through the messages of a globally known spiritual mentor she often listened to during difficult times. One message in particular stood out: the importance of writing down five things to be grateful for every day. Inspired, however, Milanya began addressing her gratitude directly to God instead of simply writing it down. She literally turned them into gratitude letters to God. Even in her breaking, she faithfully wrote five things she was thankful for each day. In those long months of solitude—writing to Him—God was already healing her and shaping her heart, though she did not recognize it at first. Months later, she realized she was no longer attached to the plans she once clung to. For someone who is a naturally shy person and stays away from social media, and her only main focus was on thriving in her career as a dental professional, unexpectedly, her path has been redirected. God led her onto a path outside her comfort zone - something she had never planned or imagined. This was the birth of her online presence. A MESSAGE Milanya’s personal rock is verse 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” For her, thanksgiving is not only for the mountaintops but also for the valleys. Through it all, she has learned that what we often see as breaking is God’s molding to align us with His plan. To God belongs our daily thanksgiving.
