🌎CELEBRATING GOD’S INDESCRIBABLE GIFT WITH THANKSGIVING

God’s greatest gift is not material but eternal—the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. Paul calls Him the “indescribable gift” because no words can fully capture the depth of God’s love and the eternal hope we have through Christ. In Him, we find forgiveness, peace, and an abundant life. Let us respond with gratitude—living each day in thanksgiving, worship, and generosity, for we have already received the greatest treasure of all.

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift. 🙏 Through Jesus Christ, we have the greatest treasure—salvation, hope, and eternal life. #WriteToGod ✍️#LetterToGod ✍️

There are gifts in life that bring us joy, comfort, and encouragement—moments of kindness, provisions in times of need, or even the blessing of family and friends. Yet, all these cannot compare to the greatest gift ever given: our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Paul describes Him as the “indescribable” or “unspeakable” gift, because no words can fully capture the depth of God’s love and the eternal value of what He has done for us through Christ.

When we reflect on this verse, we are reminded that God’s generosity goes far beyond material blessings. The heart of His giving is seen in Jesus—who left the glory of heaven to dwell among us, to redeem us, and to bring us back into fellowship with the Father. This is the gift that cannot be measured, weighed, or compared. It is a gift that carries eternal significance, because through Christ we have forgiveness of sins, hope of salvation, and the promise of eternal life.

The Greatest Gift Beyond Measure

Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians were originally tied to the theme of generosity, encouraging the church in Corinth to give cheerfully. But he ends this section by lifting their eyes higher—to God’s supreme example of giving. It is as though he was saying: “You can give with joy because you have already received the greatest gift imaginable—Christ Himself.”

This truth reminds us that God’s giving is never out of lack but out of abundance. His love is so full, so immeasurable, that He gave His one and only Son (John 3:16). And in Christ, He gave us everything we truly need—redemption, peace, and eternal hope. What greater gift could there ever be?

A Gift That Saves and Transforms

Jesus is not only a gift we receive once, but a gift that continues to transform our lives daily. Through Him, we are saved from sin, given strength for today, and hope for tomorrow. His presence brings light in our darkness, peace in our storms, and joy in our trials.

Think of this: every victory over temptation, every comfort in sorrow, every answered prayer, and every moment of grace is wrapped up in this one indescribable gift—Jesus. Without Him, we would remain in despair. But with Him, we have life, and life in abundance (John 10:10).

Our Response to the Indescribable Gift

How can we respond to such a gift? Paul’s own words point us to the answer: “Thanks be to God.” Gratitude is our first and lasting response. We give thanks not only with our lips, but with our lives. Every act of obedience, every moment of worship, and every offering of love is a way of saying “Thank You, Lord, for Jesus.”

Just as God’s gift inspires generosity, it also calls us to live with open hearts—ready to share His love, to serve others, and to reflect the character of Christ. Gratitude for the gift of Jesus leads us to a life of giving—because we know we have already received the greatest treasure of all.

Closing Reflection

Today, as we pause to consider Paul’s words, let us remember that Jesus is God’s ultimate expression of love. He is the gift too wonderful for words, too vast to fully explain, and too precious to ever repay.

So let us join Paul in lifting our hearts in thanksgiving:

Father God, thank You for Your indescribable gift in the Name of Christ Jesus. He is our Savior, our Redeemer, and our eternal hope. May our lives reflect unceasing gratitude for the gift of salvation that only comes through Him. Amen.

Dr. Milanya Soltero Osngao, a.k.a Milanya Writer, is a dentist and a gratitude writer. During her clinical years in college, she first began experiencing dreams, some of which later unfolded in her real life. These experiences have shaped her faith journey and guided her, especially in making bold decisions in her life. At times, she would question the Lord, asking why such dreams came to her, often during seasons when she felt helpless. As she matured in her faith, she came to understand that God can use dreams and visions to guide, help, and protect His people. These sacred encounters made her aware that God still speaks through dreams and visions, just as His Word declares in Acts 2:17: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” A SEASON OF BREAKING AND REDIRECTION At the beginning of 2024, Milanya prepared for what she believed would be a breakthrough in her professional life. To prepare, she invested heavily—financially and academically—believing she was paving the way for success in her professional career. But instead of the breakthrough that she expected, she then found herself walking through trial after trial. In her brokenness, she sought solitude, and in that sacred silence, kneeling before God, she asked Him to bring her through. What she did not realize at that time was that God was not breaking her down but redirecting and aligning her. During this period, she found comfort and guidance through the messages of a globally known spiritual mentor she often listened to during difficult times. One message in particular stood out: the importance of writing down five things to be grateful for every day. Inspired, however, Milanya began addressing her gratitude directly to God instead of simply writing it down. She literally turned them into gratitude letters to God. Even in her breaking, she faithfully wrote five things she was thankful for each day. In those long months of solitude—writing to Him—God was already healing her and shaping her heart, though she did not recognize it at first. Months later, she realized she was no longer attached to the plans she once clung to. For someone who is a naturally shy person and stays away from social media, and her only main focus was on thriving in her career as a dental professional, unexpectedly, her path has been redirected. God led her onto a path outside her comfort zone - something she had never planned or imagined. This was the birth of her online presence. A MESSAGE Milanya’s personal rock is verse 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” For her, thanksgiving is not only for the mountaintops but also for the valleys. Through it all, she has learned that what we often see as breaking is God’s molding to align us with His plan. To God belongs our daily thanksgiving.
